Black Friday Starts Earlier Than You Think: Is Your Infrastructure Ready?

Your Black Friday campaign has a budget, a sales target and a launch date.

Has your hosting been planned around them?

You are investing in bringing more customers to the e-shop. Before the campaign goes live, you need to know whether the store can handle the response.

1. Share the campaign plan

Share the campaign schedule, expected activity and any store changes with your hosting partner and developer. Previous traffic and performance issues can help them identify what needs attention. Agree on the work required, who will handle it and when it will be completed.

2. Establish where the limits are

A fast homepage does not confirm that checkout will work smoothly when the store is busy. Your developer and hosting partner can assess whether testing with simulated traffic would help identify delays. The findings can indicate whether additional hosting capacity, application changes or further investigation is needed.

3. Confirm what "scalable" means for your store

Cloud hosting does not automatically mean that your e-shop receives more resources as demand rises. Some setups require a manual upgrade; others can adjust automatically.

For applications running on Cloud Concept’s Managed Kubernetes cluster, automatic scaling helps handle peak demand and reduce unused capacity when activity falls.

Before the campaign begins, agree on the scaling rules, resource limits and associated costs.

4. Agree on support before launch

Confirm who will monitor the store, when support is available and how to reach the hosting provider and developer. Someone from the business should also be available to approve changes affecting cost or trading.

5. Set a preparation deadline

Complete the agreed changes early enough to check the store before launch. Review any late updates with the developer and confirm that remaining issues have a clear response plan.

The campaign has a launch date, hosting preparation needs a deadline too.
